We’re chuffed to tell you that we have a confirmed date for the next Grit Lit, where we will be making our twice-yearly appearance: Wednesday 16 May 2012
Thursday 10 May 2012 (long story, we’ll tell you over a beer after the show).
It promises to be a cracker of a night with two strong female authors confirmed already for the bill.
Brighton novelist and music industry veteran Martine McDonagh will be reading from her 2006 debut novel I have waited, and you have come (Myriad Editions), which excitedly has seen another reprint this year. A post-apocalyptic world, an outsider called Rachel fends for herself – she is drawn to a man and enters a strange world of being stalked and stalking. A wonderful book, which we will have copies of on sale at the night.
Caroline Rance, author of historical novel Kill Grief, returns to the Grit Lit stage reading from her soon to be published second novel. We are super excited for another lively reading from Caroline, who manages to expertly craft a compelling, saucy narrative with detailed knowledge about historical medicine practice.
We have 6 other high quality writers to confirm, which we will do very shortly. The night, as always, is graced by the comedic airs of our compere, Mr Geoff Westby and your hosts, myself, Amy Riley, and Tim Lay.
Advanced tickets at early bird rates can be purchased now here. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment (or standing all night). http://gritlit16may2012.eventbrite.co.uk
See you on 16 May!
