Time to Grit up for winter with our December 9th session at the Redroaster in Brighton, featuring another batch of writers throwing down their sharpest tales.
Fine talent, great writing and a well stocked bar beckon! You can get advance tickets here: http://gritlitdec2011.eventbrite.co.uk/
We are especially pleased to welcome Nina de la Mer, who will be reading from her debut novel, 4am (Myriad Editions):
Set in the early 1990s on a British army base, 4a.m. tells the story of Cal and Manny, soldiers posted to Germany as army chefs. Bored and institutionalized, the pair soon succumb to the neon temptations of Hamburg’s red-light district, where they dive into a seedy world of recreational drugs and all-night raves.
Also looking forward to seeing Erinna Mettler return to the Grit Lit stage, reading from her debut novel Starlings (Revenge Ink).
A daisy-chain novel set in the city of Brighton. Disparate lives collide in surprising ways, showing that often people are not in control of their own destinies, but are shaped by those they live next to.
Other readers on the night are short story writers James Burt, Chris Callard and Joe Evans.
As usual, Grit Lit hosts Amy Riley/ Tim Lay, and compere, Geoff Westby will be steering the night through gritty waters!
